World Allergy Congress Presents Scientific Advancements in Allergy, Asthma, and Clinical Immunology

Milwaukee, WI (PRWEB) November 30, 2011

One of the largest scientific meetings in allergy and clinical immunology will take place at the XXII World Allergy Congress (WAC 2011) in Cancún, México, December 4-8, 2011.

The World Allergy Congress will be attended by more than 3,500 physicians, medical professionals and scientists from 85 countries. The scientific program consists of 205 sessions on allergic disease including symposia, plenary sessions, debates, workshops, programs for allied health professionals, and university training programs, delivered by a faculty of 250 international experts. More than 700 abstracts for free presentations were accepted from clinicians around the world, and travel grants have been awarded to 84 junior clinicians.

Allergic diseases and asthma are increasing worldwide and up to 30% of the world population may now be affected by some form of allergy. The complexity and severity of allergic disorders, including asthma, continue to increase especially in children and young adults. New research and international expert consensus recommendations will be presented that will impact on the future management of these globally prevalent conditions.

Members of the media receive complementary full-access registration to the Congress. For information on how to register, please view the WAO Press Information page.
