UK Estate Agents Winkworth expands into Oxford and Buckinghamshire
London, Oxford, Buckinghamshire (PRWEB UK) 20 December 2011
M Winkworth PLC has added two new offices to its network, making a total of 11 offices across the UK in the last 12 months. Barrington Property opened in Chalfont St Peter, Buckinghamshire, and Paul Murray in Oxford.
Described as the gateway to the Chiltern Hills, Chalfont St Peter is one of the largest villages in the UK, with nearly 20,000 residents. Its popularity is due in part to the fact it is only 15 miles from central London and yet is the nearest truly green area outside the M25. In addition it has some of the best transport links in the country, including Heathrow Airport, the M25, M1, M40, M4, Gerrards Cross railway station and Chalfont & Latimer on the Metropolitan underground line. Due to the Chiltern Railways Evergreen project, trains from Gerrards Cross take less than thirty minutes to Marylebone.
There are a range of excellent grammar and private schools in Chalfont St Peter, which have received top OFSTED results. Schools include Chalfont St Peter Church of England Academy; Dr Challoner’s High School, Beaconsfield High School and Chalfont Community College.
Andre Montaut, of Winkworth Chalfont St Peter, said:
“I was already familiar with the Winkworth brand, having worked in London previously. The attraction of Winkworth’s local knowledge approach to their franchisees and Winkworth’s expanding network, coupled with its strong London presence made it an attractive and sensible opportunity for us.
“We have seen a significant number of buyers moving out of West London to prime commuter spots such as Chalfont St Peter. Likewise we have a number of vendors selling and moving to the south coast and West Country, where Winkworth has a number of offices.”
Oxford is considered one of the UK’s most famous cities. Its history stretches way back to 900 AD, when it was known in Saxon as Oxenaforda, meaning ‘Ford of the Oxen’, and the University of Oxford is first mentioned in 12th Century AD.
Today Oxford has a population of approximately 165,000 who benefit from its excellent schools, such as The Dragon and St Edwards, and its proximity to London for commuters. The final stage of the Chiltern Railways Evergreen project will connect London Marylebone to Oxford via Gerrards Cross, taking a proposed 66 minutes. Additionally the Oxford Tube takes only ninety minutes from Oxford to central London.
Paul Murray, of Paul Murray, commented:
“Winkworth is the only franchise I would have considered teaming up with, as Winkworth’s profile, specialising in the mid to upper range of the property market, compliments our own business which we have established over the last sixteen years. This will provide us with an excellent connection to prospective purchasers moving through Winkworth’s 57 London offices, to take advantage of the schools and other educational establishments in Oxford.”

This is a smart blog. I mean it. You have so much knowledge about this issue, and so much passion. You also know how to make people rally behind it, obviously from the responses. Youve got a design here thats not too flashy, but makes a statement as big as what youre saying. Great job, indeed.
