The Consumer Justice Foundation Alerts the Public to CBC Report of an Actos Side Effects Class Action Lawsuit Filed in Canada’s Ontario Superior Court of Justice
(PRWEB) December 28, 2011
The Consumer Justice Foundation, a for-profit corporation whose team of professional consumer advocates provide free online informational resources to the public regarding potential dangers with certain prescription medications, hereby alert consumers of a recent report published by the CBC in Canada that states that a class action Actos side effects lawsuit has been filed in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice against Takeda Pharmaceutical company and Eli Lilly and Company, the companies that manufactured and distributed the medication.
Specifically, this Actos class action lawsuit was filed on December 23 of 2011 and according to the CBC report, the lead plaintiff is a woman from Toronto who was prescribed Actos in 2002 to help her treat her diabetes. However, she eventually contracted bladder cancer and died in April of 2011 after fighting the disease for approximately two years. Bladder cancer is a commonly alleged Actos side effect.
The CBC report further states that this Actos class action lawsuit comes on the heels of both France and Germany disallowing the sale of Actos in those countries and after the FDA in the United States began to require a warning be placed on the labels of Actos that specifically warned patients of the risk of bladder cancer.
