Students everywhere many never have to take class lecture notes again.
A new service named ShareNotes is providing class lecture notes for universities everywhere. Students nation wide will be able to instantly access their lecture notes by visiting http://www.sharenotesstore.com. In addition to lecture notes, students will also be able to acquire old exams, study guides for up coming tests, and even chapter summaries for their reading assignments.
Although ShareNotes currently only services the University of Texas at Austin, they are actively looking for note takers from different universities. Note takers will be paid for each sale their notes generate.
The creator of the site is a senior undergraduate at University of Texas at Austin who hopes to help students add to their own notes, and cover for students who miss class for religious holidays or any other reason.
“I definitely don’t believe students should skip class,” says the creator of ShareNotes, “but if they are willing to pay a fair price for the notes the miss, then what’s the big deal? With ShareNotes, everybody wins. Not only do my note takers get paid for going to class, they also improve their grades by revisiting their lecture notes.”
Eventually ShareNotes will have notes from many universities, making it the perfect place to grab the notes you missed, or fill in the notes you already have. ShareNotes currently provides an affiliate program for students who do not with to contribute their own class notes. “Students who promote ShareNotes can profit from every sale they generate. We offer our affiliates 20% of any sale they bring to us. If they happen to contribute their own notes to our website, we will give them 49% of any sale.”
