Edinburgh Business School Voted Top Online MBA Provider by the Financial Times

Edinburgh, Midlothian (PRWEB) April 4, 2010

Edinburgh Business School’s online MBA programme has been voted the world’s top online MBA by the Financial Times newspaper in an article ranking ‘the top 40 online MBA providers’ in the world.

The article, published on the 15th of March, put Edinburgh Business School in top position with more than 8,500 students currently enrolled on its distance learning MBA programme globally.

The FT has run this special MBA feature every year since 2003, and in this intensely competitive area, Edinburgh Business School has consistently been listed as first or second in the world due to the increase year on year since 2004 of its active MBA students.

The Edinburgh Business School MBA programme MBA programme, which leads to the award of the Heriot-Watt University MBA degree, was first made available in 1989 and is now the largest international MBA programme provider in the world with over 8,500 active students and 12,000 alumni. The students are drawn from over 165 countries: 30% come from the Americas, 25% from Europe, 20% from Africa, 15% from the Middle East and 10% from Australasia.

The MBA has achieved its success through its unique flexibility – students can chose to study on campus in the UK, with an international academic partner, or through self- managed independent learning – and through its choice of languages. The MBA is currently available in English, Chinese, Spanish, Arabic, Russian and Hebrew. Over 40% of Fortune 500 companies have employees currently on the programme.

Professor Keith Lumsden, Director of Edinburgh Business School, said “The School is delighted that this listing highlights both the popularity of our MBA but also its great flexibility – with students able to start when they want, study on their own or with faculty, and study from anywhere in the world in 6 languages”
